Microneedling is one of the easiest and most effective skin treatments available.  As the amazing process gains awareness it is important to understand, what microneedling is, how it works and whether it is a suitable treatment for you.

Scars, wrinkles and uneven skin tone are all lacking collagen. If your body would produce more collagen then you wouldn't get these issues in the first place, but as we get older our bodies don't make as much. Microneedling offers our body a pathway by encouraging collagen production which helps prevent or reverse their formation.  The technique of Microneedling is done by creating thousands of microscopic channels in the skin's surface, to increase the formation of new tissue by activating the body's wound healing process.  This micro-channeling causes the release of growth factors that promote scar-less healing and the deposition of normal woven collagen rather than scar collagen.

Advantages to Microneedling include a visual and noticeable improvement in a few days from the first treatment. It is cost effective, it is way less expensive than laser treatments and less downtime as well.  Short healing time (1/2 day to 2 days depending on how sensitive your skin is),  there is no permanent damage or injury as the needles are designed to only penetrate a certain depth; we want to keep it shallow to stimulate the collagen production (going to deep can cause scarring and will lengthen recovery time). There is an extremely high absorption rate of active ingredients from the products that I use immediately following the microneedling treatment.

Microneedling/ Collagen Induction Therapy

CIT stands for Collagen Induction Therapy. Microneedling and CIT are the same thing. It is a break through remedy for the treatment of wrinkles and pigmentation, and scars. Clinical studies have shown that micro-needling produces channels in the epidermis which sufficiently stimulate the body's natural defenses to repair the produce concentrated amounts of of collagen and proteins to the treated areas of the skin. This results in the skins thickness being increased. Which visibly reduces scars, minimizes wrinkles and softening of the complexion.
